 Dates:  1837-1929 
 Abstract:  William Tully Bascom was an Ohio journalist and editor. His daughter Laura L., a music teacher and soloist, married Dr. Hiram H. Little. Their son, Tully Bascom Little, was a Cleveland businessman who became chairman of the National Defense Committee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. W.T. Bascom's son, Gustavus, fought in the Civil War and became a Lt. Colonel in the U.S. Army. The collection consists of correspondence, diaries, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, and genealogical and autobiographical material.

 Abstract:  Orlando John Hodge (1828-1912) was a soldier, State legislator, and journalist, of Cleveland, Ohio. The collection consists of correspondence, reminiscences, pocket diaries, journals describing Mexican War experiences and world travels, speeches, and genealogical notes on the Doan, Hodge, and related families; together with correspondence and journals of Hodge's brother, Alfred A. Hodge; correspondence, accounts, and military papers of Hodge's brother-in-law, David L. Wood; personal correspondence of Wood's wife, Mandana S. (Hodge) Wood; and memoirs of Velorus Hodge, correspondence of Mrs. Orlando J. Hodge, and Cleveland Centennial Commission treasurer's book.

 Abstract:  Ann Maria Stockwell (1840-1904) was a Boston, Massachusetts resident (her home was in the Roxbury section of Boston), and wife of George Green. She was born in West Acton, Massachusetts on March 28, 1840. Her first husband, David Hapgood, died during the American Civil War. Her second husband, George Green, was a stationer who died in 1899. The collection consists of three bound, handwritten notebooks containing an account of an extended trip to Europe. Includes descriptions of Glasgow, Edinburgh, Oxford, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Cologne, Strasbourg, Bern, Geneva, Paris, Rome, and other cities in Italy. Mrs. Green was in Rome at the time of the deaths of Victor Emmanuel II and Pius IX, in 1878. She also attended a London church service and sermon given by the Nonconformist divine, Charles Haddon Spurgeon, at his church, The Tabernacle.

 Abstract:  Adella Prentiss Hughes (1869-1950) was a musical impresario and founder and manager of the Cleveland Orchestra. Her grandparents were leaders in various charitable and religious institutions in Cleveland, Ohio. the collection consists of correspondence, land deeds, genealogical data, poems, music programs, religious tracts, circulars, broadsides, newspaper clippings, memorabilia, legal documents, journal, diary, account books, and other papers, relating to the activities of Mrs. Hughes, her parents, Loren and Ellen Prentiss, and her maternal grandparents, Benjamin and Rebecca Rouse.

 Abstract:  Randall Palmer Wade (1835-1876) was the son of Jeptha Homer Wade (1811-1890). He worked in the Cleveland, Ohio, office of the family telegraph company. He and his wife, Anna R. McGraw, had two children, Jeptha Homer, Jr. and Alice L. The collection consists of three handwritten journals describing the experiences of the Wade family during a fourteen month European trip, June 1870 to September 1871. Topics covered include architecture, landscape, social classes and customs, and the Franco-Prussian war.
